Is Coke Zero Bad for You? (Let’s Talk Honestly)

Okay sooo I’ve been wondering this for a while now and I figured let me just write it out lol. Like fr, is Coke Zero actually bad for you or nah? Some ppl say it’s fine, others act like it’s gonna kill you instantly. What’s the truth??

I drink it kinda a lot ngl. Like not everyday, but almost . So this is kinda for me too, not just whoever’s reading.


what even IS Coke Zero??

So Coke Zero is just Coca-Cola without the sugar, right. It’s like diet coke but also not diet coke??? I don’t really know the difference tbh but Coke Zero tastes better to me lol.

It uses stuff like aspartame and some other sweetner I can’t pronounce (acesul… idk something with potassium in it ). Point is, it’s sweet but there’s no sugar or calories. Sounds like a win but… is it??


ppl say its bad for a few reasons…

ok so I looked around online and talked to a few ppl and here’s what I found:

1. fake sugar = sketchy

alot of people dont trust the sweetners in it, specially aspartame. There’s rumors it causes cancer or like other stuff. But idk, FDA says its “safe” soooo ‍♂️ who do we trust?

2. it messes with ur body maybe??

Some studies say that even tho theres no sugar, your brain still thinks its getting sugar. so it reacts like it is. So like… your body might still release insulin or make you crave other food later. Which is so annoying if you’re trying to eat healthy.

3. gut health = not happy

I read somewhere that fake sweetners can mess up your gut bacteria, which idk what that really means but sounds bad lol. Like bloating, gas, stuff like that.

4. its lowkey addictive

Not in a drug kinda way but like… once you start drinking it you kinda can’t stop?? It tastes rlly good and theres no calories so your brain’s like “ya keep drinking it!” and suddenly u had 3 cans in a day


BUT is it actually BAD bad?

honestly… it doesn’t seem that bad. If you’re drinking it every now and then, you’re probably fine. It doesn’t have sugar, so it’s def better than regular coke. And it doesn’t make your blood sugar go up so that’s good too.

BUT if you’re drinking like 5 a day and never drinking water, that’s kinda not great lol. Everything in moderation I guess.


some good stuff about it (yes there’s some)

  • ✅ No sugar = better for teeth (no cavities yay)

  • ✅ 0 calories = can help if ur tryna lose weight

  • ✅ doesn’t make u crash like sugar drinks

  • ✅ helps with cravings sometimes (for me at least)


soooo should you stop drinking it?

idk man, that’s up to you. I think it’s okay in small amounts. Like 1 a day is probably not gonna hurt you. But if ur chuggin it like water, maybe chill a bit lol. And if it makes u feel bloated or weird, maybe switch it up.

I’m not a doctor or anything btw. Just sharing what I’ve seen & felt.
